The Steel Plant authorities are currently interrogating a CISF constable associated with the steel plant in connection with a suspected honeytrap case that came to light on Monday. The constable, identified as Kapil Kumar Jagdish Bhai Devumurari, is under investigation for his potential involvement in online exchanges with an individual, the details of which are being closely examined by the police.

Kapil, who has been serving in the CISF fire wing at VSP in Vizag city for the past year, had previously been stationed at Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) in Bhanur, Hyderabad. The case unfolded when CISF inspector S. Saravanan received information suggesting Kapil's communication with a woman, who was subsequently identified as Pakistani.

Prompted by these findings, Kapil was summoned for questioning and his mobile phone was subjected to scrutiny. Notably, the phone number of the woman in question, referred to as PIO, was stored in Kapil's mobile contacts under the name Tamisha. Concerns arose that Kapil might have shared sensitive security-related information pertaining to the steel plant with this number before erasing any traces from his device.

Inspector Saravanan swiftly notified the Vizag city police, who registered a case against Kapil under sections 4, 9 r/w 3 of the official secrets act. DCP (South-Zone) Ananda Reddy conveyed that while Kapil maintained that he had only engaged in routine greetings with the woman PIO and had not shared any confidential information, further investigation was imperative.

To delve deeper into the matter, the constable's mobile device is slated for examination at the cyber forensic lab. Interestingly, during a search of Kapil's belongings on August 4, a second Android mobile phone was discovered, raising suspicions about undisclosed aspects of his interactions with the PIO.

The unfolding investigation seeks to unravel the nature of Kapil's communications and ascertain whether any security breaches occurred. As the authorities endeavor to uncover the truth, the case highlights the importance of vigilance in matters concerning sensitive information and potential security risks.
